About this deal

As a cat lover I came upon this book many years ago and bought it for my two young grandchildren , every Christmas Eve it came out and we read it knowing the words almost off by heart . We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. This funny, charmingly observed portrayal of family life is sure to resonate with parents and children alike.

This funny and warm-hearted escapade is in a beautiful board book format, complete with a stunning foiled cover for extra Christmas sparkle. These reactions are the flip side of the usual childlike ‘wonder of Christmas’ stuff, highlighting just how odd some of our traditions must seem to an outsider. I don’t have a bad word to say about this – it’s music full of festive joy, absolutely perfect for the film for which it was written and it makes for a wonderful album that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The story itself is a simple and heartwarming one, and the accompanying song by Sophie Ellis Bextor is a sweet little festive bop (if slightly twee.

Kerr was born in Berlin but left Germany with her parents and her brother, Michael, in 1933, soon after the Nazis first came to power. All’s well that ends well, and Mog’s Christmas finishes with everyone standing around the Christmas tree unwrapping presents. Also a little lesson with regards to pets at Christmas time - especially the ones in which this is their first Christmas - which may not understand all the changes to their environment as well as their distracted people. This new animated special has seen a team of artists bring to life Judith Kerr’s vivid illustrations in Lupus Films’ distinctive, hand-drawn animated style from their studio in London. Channel 4 has a long-standing relationship with Lupus Films and together with their creative flair we have brought so many classic stories to the screen that have been enjoyed by generations of viewers. if you have ever seen the Sainsbury's ads for Christmas, you probably have seen the film version of this book. Lupus Films are known for their adaptation of other classics, including The Tiger Who Came to Tea, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and The Snowman and The Snowdog.

In the end she’s showered with gifts by the delighted Debbie and Nicky and even has her own Christmas dinner of turkey and three hard boiled eggs. We also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners. She’s also starred in A Very British Scandal , White Heat, First Man, Little Dorrit, Upstairs Downstairs, Wolf Hall and The Girl in the Spider’s Web. The money donated to Save the Children will go towards their UK literacy work and will also give funding to support the aims of the national Read On.I haven’t read it, but maybe the calamity was that the Thomases only just realised Mog had been dead for 13 years. The 22-minute film has taken the equivalent of 24 human years to make, with over 16,000 hand-drawn, animated frames. I’m having a lot of fun following the light reflecting off the balloons before Mog pops one and gets scared. This, I think, is evidence that the aunts are blood relatives of Mrs Thomas, who displayed a tenuous grasp on reality in Mog and the Baby. Meanwhile, Mog’s purrs and miaows will be provided by Tacy Kneale, Judith Kerr’s daughter, who said, “Our own Mog was a huge part of my childhood.
