Today’s Black Bottle boasts floral and oak aromas and fruit, smoke, honey and nutmeg flavours, with the Islay element in the blend being provided by Bunnahabhain. Since then, the non-vintage bottle has been dark green, but the 10-year-old and now discontinued 15-year-old bottles are coated with black plastic, giving the appearance of a truly black bottle. The finish makes me think of Bunnahabhain with that hint of smoke mixed with a nutty, and lightly spiced fruit.
