So obviously with a new bed frame I looked forward to (finally!) having matching nightstands. We’ve been using a couple hand-me-down mismatched nightstands since we got married more than a decade ago. Neither was much our style, but they were free and in good condition. Vikhammer is a village in the municipality of Malvik in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located along an arm of the Trondheimsfjord, about 1.5 kilometres (0.93mi) east of the village of Hundhammeren. If you want enough space for bedside lamps, candles, plants or other decorative items – then you should be looking at bigger bedside tables with larger surface areas and maybe even storage space beneath. Vikhammer is a center of tourism each summer, with many German and Swedish camping tourists who camp at Vikhammer Camping. Tourists come to see the fjords for which Norway is famous. Locally, the salmon fishing is also a popular tourist activity. The European route E6 highway runs just south of the village. The Vikhammer Station on the Nordland Line is located in the village. Malvik Church is located just east of the village. Practicalities aside, you’ll also want to choose a nightstand which suits your interior taste. A bedroom is a truly personal space where you can express your style freely – so it’s worth finding a bedside table that truly captures the look you wish to accentuate. In comparison to our new bed frame though, the proportions of both night stands were way off and they didn’t match at all so we figured it was time to upgrade to something a bit more us. I’ve owned my fair share of Ikea furniture over the years and while the pieces are extremely affordable and easily accessible, they aren’t typically pieces that provide a ton of longevity when it comes to wear and tear. Over the years we’ve upgraded most all of our Ikea furniture for pieces that are well made and will last for years to come but we still own two nightstands from Ikea.

Once dry, lightly sand the top of the nightstands. You want to scuff up the surface just a little before spreading Liquid Nails or a similar construction adhesive onto the top of the nightstand. Bedside cabinets with drawers

Using clamps, position and then secure the edge glued board to the top of the nightstand and allow to dry for 24-48 hours. Be sure not to over-tighten the clamps or you’ll risk damaging the wood. Just to be safe, we recommend placing a cloth over the edge-glued board, followed by a scrap piece of wood and then applying the clamps. The marble pastry board gives the laminate top of our Ikea nightstand an added layer of durability while making it look and feel more expensive than it really is.
