About this deal

The original bottle, designed by French architect and artisan Louis Süe, was designed to have a simple, classical feel. Calèche has austerity, like her sisters Bandit (les cigarettes as also the galbanum with oakmoss and either civet !

Men would possibly find it "exciting" on a Woman;) I can appreciate that it's a classic, And was once "The costliest perfume in the world". I supposed back in the day before PETA when every woman who could afford the luxury wore fur in some capacity. But the scent keeps ebbing away; within three hours I can barely smell anything even with my nose touching my wrist. My skin does not love this scent, and while the dry down is tolerable, that overripe catbox note pretty much ruins it for me.

Calèche lends its austerity to iris, oakmoss, citron and bergamot, neroli and orange blossom, and cedar (dry).

Ugh it's giving me Amarige vibes, and I don't like Amarige EPD by Givenchy which by the way, is a whole lot more affordable than Joy EPD. With my body chemistry Joy was a simple floral that had an intense opening and then, in less than 5 minutes, poof, quickly dissipated. Though the larger amount generally represents a better deal, the smaller is perfect for testing as scents may smell differently depending upon your skin's pH and the other products you use. This is for a powerful woman, beyond trite definitions of confidence, beyond the need to prove herself to anyone. Joy" was voted "Scent of the Century" by the public at the Fragrance Foundation FiFi Awards in 2000, beating its rival " Chanel No.According to Luca Turin, "the whole point of its formula was to achieve the platonic idea of a flower, not one particular earthly manifestation. There is a bright aldehylic soapiness to the opening - I think aldehydes must be present in the lighter concentrations. Chanel Féline, Rouge Noir or Vamp in the US, with a step towards the future, rouge transsiberièn (then) and Beige. Again, similar to the original but muskier, and the aldehydes, green notes and florals are softened slightly.

It is a wondrously composed medley of florals and softly flowing woods on a smooth, almost not registering, aldehydic cloud. Green notes twine through all this for about 10 minutes when an airy Jasmine appears and grabs my attention, twining through everything. He says that he discerns a rubbery note, which might be the "doll's head" element that others have noticed. In any case, if someone in the States would like to trade I'd be glad to hook you up with some lovely vintage juice. Achingly beautiful, infinitely better than the current EDP and EDT, which I really like, but don't love the way I love this.

I found after sniffing parfum EDT is like disappearing, have to sniff EDT first to make it possible to compare with parfum, I believe parfum is pure roses and jasmines, it's heavy in exquisite flowers to the extent with some nature's breath of dirtiness. I'm not sure what it is about it, there's just something entirely magical about it - the aldehydes just do something to me.
